Home :: Application Design :: Retail Surveillance

Retail S3 is an innovative technology developed by the IBM research labs. Currently implemented in selected Kohl's stores, the main purpose of this system is to prevent retail fraud.

The conceptual design of this system involved monitoring over 16 screens, detailed maps of individual sections of the store, creating tripwires and sectionals on the touchscreen monitor along with marketing analysis. The main challenge of this project was in making an informed decision on features to implement per phase.

Role:
Information Architecture (Information design, wireframes, process flow and user scenarios), documentation

The process to design this system included requirement gathering discussions with the owners of the concept, analysis of the system developed for research purposes, collaboration with the developers for implementation.
